Eating Banana Routine Can Prevent Heart Attack

A recent health study by the University of Alabama, USA revealed eating regular bananas daily can prevent heart attacks and strokes.

High potassium content in bananas can overcome the problem of blockage in the blood vessels, or any constriction so that blood flow well into the heart muscle.

This health study was tested on mice that were divided into three categories, given low banana consumption, normal and high potassium levels.

The end result shows the blood vessels in the low rat potassium become tense and hardened than others.

Meanwhile, the condition is in contrast to animals that are given high potassium, in which the blood vessels do not tighten. Potassium is useful to reduce the tension around the aorta, or the largest artery in the body.

Based on these findings also then concluded potassium may help prevent jauntg and stroke attacks in humans. However, it should be known that consuming foods that contain high potassium also should not be excessive, because it can cause stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea.

Dr. Mike Knapton, of the British Heart Foundation, said the latest study showed that not consuming enough potassium would make the hardening of blood vessels.

"With more research, we may be able to see how the disease occurs in humans, and develop its treatment," Knapton's doctor told The Sun, as quoted by The Independent.

The UK National Health Service (NHS) officially recommends that everyone consume at least 3,500 milligrams of potassium every day, or a quarter can be obtained by eating two bananas.

The rest, can be added with the consumption of other foods that are also rich in potassium, such as potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, fish, and or poultry.
